‘The Tower’ was created in response to the climate emergency, exploring how extreme weather and flooding might affect the less wealthy in society, alongside themes of family, legacy and how we tell our stories once the power has gone.
Set in the future, it uses an abstract style to play with memory and language, imagining them behaving like water: floating, raging, fragmenting and flooding together in moments of clarity.
The production was OffFest nominated and shortlisted for the Farnham Maltings Emerging Artist/Company Awardat Brighton Fringe. The script also reached the top 10% of the 2025 BBC Writersroom Open Call, from 5,734 eligible scripts.
At its heart, the play came from a very personal place. I have a daughter and a son, and I worry about what the world will be like for their children.
