The Project
‘2145’ was created in 2022, before AI featured in everyone’s lives, and became Wild Elk’s first project and premiere.
We wanted to bring sustainability and the environment into a conversation about existing organically and virtually, while grounding these big themes in female relationships. Using comedy and magical realism, we approached science fiction on a shoestring: Red Dwarf meets Black Mirror for the stage.
The script placed in the top 3% of the BBC Writersroom Open Call and won the Michael Graney Bursary for Sci-Fi Writing. Its sell-out Brighton Fringe run was OffFest-nominated and placed in the top three for the Audience Choice Award.
At its heart, ‘2145’ is hopeful. It asks us not to fear technology, but to question it, while remembering that our relationships and ability to work together are what define us.
